When you "activate" your Disney PhotoPass photos—usually by purchasing and then redeeming a Memory Maker entitlement—the digital watermarks are removed, and you gain the ability to download and share all images and videos captured during your visit. Activation typically occurs the first time you download an image or "redeem" the credit in the My Disney Experience app. Once activated, your photos are usually available for a 45-day window from the date they were taken; if you do not download them before they expire, they are permanently deleted from Disney's servers. With an active Memory Maker, you can also view and download photos from up to 25 "Family & Friends" members who have shared their media with you. You also gain access to "Magic Shots" (where characters or effects are digitally added to your photos) and on-ride videos from attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or TRON. It essentially transforms a gallery of previews into a permanent library of high-resolution digital memories.
