For the majority of international travelers in 2026, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is the "best" airport due to its massive volume of direct flights and its superior connection to the RER B train line, which takes you directly into central Paris (Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles) in about 35–50 minutes. It is also the main hub for the TGV high-speed rail, allowing you to bypass central Paris entirely if you are heading to Lyon or Bordeaux. However, for European short-haul travelers or those coming from French regional cities, Paris Orly (ORY) is often the better choice. Orly is located significantly closer to the city center (just 13km south) and, with the recent extension of Metro Line 14, you can now reach the heart of Paris in just 25 minutes for the price of a standard metro ticket. Paris Beauvais (BVA) should generally be avoided unless you are on a very strict budget, as it is located nearly 85km from the city and requires a costly and time-consuming 1.5-hour bus ride, often negating the savings of a "budget" flight.
