The busiest times at Universal Studios Orlando coincide with major U.S. school holidays and seasonal events. The absolute peak periods are the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, the two weeks around Easter, and the mid-summer months (late June through July). During these times, wait times for popular attractions like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or VelociCoaster can easily exceed 120 to 180 minutes. Another massive draw is the Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) season, which runs from September through early November; while the park is busy during the day, the evenings are packed with crowds specifically for the haunted houses. If you want to avoid the crowds, the best times to visit are usually the first two weeks of December, the month of February (excluding President's Day weekend), and late August into September when kids return to school. During these "off-peak" windows, you can often experience most of the park with significantly shorter lines, making it the ideal time for those who don't want to shell out extra for "Universal Express" passes.
