Walt Disney World is using park reservations to redistribute attendance by limiting availability at Magic Kingdom–and thus pushing people towards Animal Kingdom and EPCOT to increase the utilization of those parks and normalize numbers across all four parks.
That is because when you purchase tickets online or using the Disneyland mobile app, the checkout process automatically includes booking a theme park reservation as well. You can check if you already have reservations using the Disneyland Resort website.

Restaurants offering advance reservations do not allow modifications within 2 hours of the reservation time, and most charge a $10 per-person fee to cancel within 2 hours of the reservation time, or if you don't show up for your reservation.
Depending on the situation, you may need to pay a cancelation fee. Canceling 30+ days out will not cost you, but canceling between 2-29 days ahead of your vacation will cost you $200.
