The largest Boeing aircraft currently in existence is the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental. It measures approximately 76.3 meters (250 feet) in length, making it the longest operational passenger aircraft in the world. Known as the "Queen of the Skies," the 747-8 features a distinctive hump and a massive wingspan of 68.4 meters. While Boeing has officially ended production of the 747 line, these giants continue to serve as primary long-haul carriers and heavy cargo lifters in 2026. Looking ahead, the Boeing 777-9 (part of the 777X family) is set to challenge this legacy; while slightly shorter than the 747-8, it features the largest wingspan of any Boeing jet thanks to its innovative folding wingtips, which allow it to fit into standard airport gates despite its massive size.
