Hawaiian Airlines is one of the safest airlines in the United States, which should come as no surprise given its sterling crash-free record. The airline has a fleet comprised entirely of Boeing aircraft and an average age of 12.8 years, the third-highest in North America.
In 2022 year, Frontier Airlines reported 20.26 customer complaints for each 100,000 enplanements on domestic-scheduled operations. This was the highest rate of customer complaints among U.S. carriers.
In the 2023 American Customer Satisfaction Index, which collected data from April 2022 to March 2023, Spirit earned a score of 64 out of 100, dead last out of 11 U.S.-based airlines. According to The Vacationer, Spirit was also the most avoided airline for every single age group.
-Delta and Allegiant still are the least likely mainline and budget airlines to bump a passenger. During Q2 2020, both Delta and Allegiant bumped zero passengers. -American Airlines Group's trio of airlines improved their bumps per 100,000 passengers drastically in Q2 2020 versus Q3 2019 – Q2 2020.
On paper, the new Delta and United seats are both 21 inches wide and offer 37 inches of pitch, but United's feels more spacious due to the lack of larger privacy wings — more on that below.
In its list of the 20 overall safest airlines for 2023, U.S. based airlines which made the cut include Alaska Airlines in eighth place, Hawaiian Airlines in 12th, United Airlines in 14th, American Airlines in 19th and Delta Air Lines in 20th, according to Airlineratings.com.
