What level of thrill is the Test Track at Epcot?

Test Track Thrill Scale: 4. High-speed and banked turns as the vehicles make their test lap at the end of the ride.

Test Track is classified as a "High Thrill" attraction, but it is unique because it focuses more on speed and environmental "testing" than on traditional drops or inversions. The ride is a "high-speed slot car" experience where guests design a virtual concept vehicle and then board a 6-passenger "SimCar" to see how it performs. The "thrill" comes in two stages: first, a series of indoor tests featuring sudden braking, rough terrain, and a "near-miss" semi-truck encounter; and second, the grand finale where the car bursts outside and accelerates to a top speed of 65 miles per hour on a banked track. This makes it the fastest ride in all of Walt Disney World. While it doesn't have the stomach-churning drops of a roller coaster, the 50-degree banked curves and the feeling of wind in your face at highway speeds provide a significant adrenaline rush. It has a height requirement of 40 inches (102 cm), making it a great "step-up" thrill for older children who are ready for something more intense than Frozen Ever After but aren't quite ready for a full-blown coaster.

There are some small pops of airtime, that butterflies-in-your-stomach, out-of-your-seat sensation. But they are not especially intense. There are also a few elements that deliver positive G-forces, the feeling of being pinned to the seat. Again, these forces are not particularly extreme.

TT isn't worth a long wait. It's cool creating the car and we've had alot of fun being put with another party to ride and having friendly competition. 40 minutes is about our cutoff to do it or not.

Reviewed by BrianR Review Date: 11/13/2023 Test Track is awesome and very interactive. You can build your own car at the beginning and then head into the ride itself. Plenty to look at in while waiting in line. The end of the ride is my favorite!

While the overall ride doesn't have any big drops, Test Track does have some small dips and bumps. None of them are significant enough to be counted as scary, but it's not a flat, smooth ride. Your kids will experience starts, stops, accelerations and some dips throughout the testing experience.

Soarin' isn't particularly scary, but the ride does try to add some excitement to the “flying” simulation. I wouldn't advise guests with a fear of heights to ride.
