These are the Hanshin Main Line from Hanshin Osaka-Umeda Station, the Hankyu Kobe Main Line from Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station, and the JR Kobe Line from Osaka Station.

There are three primary railway lines connecting Osaka and Kobe, each catering to different speeds and budgets. The JR Kobe Line (part of the Tokaido Main Line) is the fastest conventional option, with Special Rapid trains taking just 20 minutes from JR Osaka Station to Sannomiya. The Hankyu Kobe Main Line runs slightly further north, connecting Osaka-Umeda to Kobe-Sannomiya in about 25 minutes; it is favored for its elegant maroon trains and slightly lower fares. The Hanshin Main Line is the southernmost route, also connecting Umeda to Sannomiya; it takes about 30 minutes but is ideal for reaching the Hanshin Koshien Stadium. Additionally, the Sanyo Shinkansen offers a sub-15-minute "bullet train" jump between Shin-Osaka and Shin-Kobe stations, though these stations are located slightly outside the primary city centers.
