What parking lot is Jones Beach Boardwalk?

The beach and boardwalk is accessed by walking through the pedestrian tunnel under Ocean Parkway. Entrance to this tunnel is in the southeast corner of the parking area. Coming into Jones Beach State Park from Wantagh State Parkway southbound, Parking Field 4 is the first parking area available.

To access the famous Jones Beach Boardwalk, you should primarily park in Field 4, which is the most central and popular parking area. Field 4 is located directly in front of the Central Mall, providing immediate access to the boardwalk, the "Needle" monument, and the most active section of the beach. If Field 4 is full, Field 3 and Field 5 are the best secondary options, as they also offer direct boardwalk access on the east and west sides, respectively. In 2026, the parking fee remains around $10 per vehicle during the peak summer season (collected via automated booths or the Empire Pass), though parking is free during the off-season and on specific weekday evenings. Parking in Field 4 is especially convenient if you are visiting for the "Movies on the Boardwalk" or need quick access to the beach's main concession stands and restrooms.
