What rides are free on the Swiss Travel Pass?

Trains and buses in Switzerland are included in the pass. However, seat reservations on panoramic trains are not included. Mountain railways (such as cable cars, funiculars, and rack-and-pinion trains) are discounted. City transport (buses, streetcars) is included in 90 cities.

The Swiss Travel Pass is less about "rides" in the amusement park sense and more about total access to the country's breathtaking mountain transport infrastructure. With the pass, almost all "standard" public transport is 100% free, including the world-famous panoramic trains like the Glacier Express, Bernina Express, and the Gotthard Panorama Express (though you must still pay a separate seat reservation fee). Most notably, several major mountain excursions are included for free, such as the trip to Mount Rigi, Mount Stanserhorn (featuring the open-top CabriO cable car), and Mount Stoos (the world's steepest funicular). For most other high-altitude cable cars and private mountain railways—like the Jungfraujoch, Pilatus, or Titlis—the pass provides a 50% discount. Additionally, all public lake steamers on Lake Brienz, Lake Thun, Lake Lucerne, and Lake Geneva are completely free. This makes the pass an incredibly powerful tool for tourists, as it effectively turns the entire country into an "all-access" park where you can hop on and off trains, boats, and postal buses without ever reaching for your wallet at a ticket office.
