What times does Delta serve meals in first class?

For flights 2,300 miles and over, you'll find a fresh meal service 24 hours a day and a selection of snacks. STILL HAVE QUESTIONS? We have answers. Explore our frequently asked questions and learn more about seats.

Excellent question! The timing of meal service in Delta’s First Class depends entirely on the flight distance and time of day. Delta has moved away from fixed meal times and now bases service on the duration of the flight.

Here’s a breakdown of when you can expect a meal:

1. Flights Over 900 Miles (Typically 2+ hours)

This is where full meal service is offered. The type of meal is determined by the scheduled time of departure.

  • Breakfast Service: For flights departing between 5:00 AM and 9:59 AM.

    • What to expect: A hot entrée (e.g., omelets, French toast), fresh fruit, yogurt, and a breakfast bread. Coffee, juice, and other beverages are offered.
    • Service Timing: Usually begins once the plane reaches cruising altitude, approximately 30-45 minutes after takeoff.
  • Lunch & Dinner Service: For flights departing between 10:00 AM and 7:59 PM.

    • What to expect: A choice of two hot entrees (often one meat and one vegetarian/pasta), a salad or appetizer, a side, and a dessert. Warm bread and a full bar service are included.
    • Service Timing: Typically starts 45-60 minutes after takeoff.
  • Supper Service: For flights departing between 8:00 PM and 1:59 AM.

    • What to expect: Lighter, “wind-down” options. This might be a smaller hot entrée, a substantial salad or sandwich, and a dessert. The focus is on something satisfying
