What was the old name of the stunt coaster on Kings Island?

Backlot Stunt Coaster is a launched roller coaster located at three Cedar Fair amusement parks. The first two installations opened at Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland in 2005 under the name Italian Job: Stunt Track, while the third opened at Kings Dominion in 2006 as Italian Job: Turbo Coaster.

The ride currently known as Backlot Stunt Coaster at Kings Island originally opened in 2005 as the Italian Job: Stunt Track. The attraction was a highly themed "Special Effects" coaster inspired by the 2003 remake of the film The Italian Job. When it first opened, the trains were modeled to look like MINI Cooper cars, and the ride featured various cinematic effects, including a "helicopter" attack and pyrotechnics. Following the sale of the Paramount Parks to Cedar Fair in 2006, the park lost the licensing rights to the Paramount movie titles. Consequently, in 2008, the name was changed to its current "generic" title, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and most of the direct movie references and MINI Cooper logos were removed or modified to avoid copyright issues. Despite the name change, the track layout and the "stunt movie set" theme remain intact, serving as a family-friendly thrill ride that provides a unique "behind-the-scenes" Hollywood vibe in the heart of the Ohio amusement park.
