What will Top Thrill Dragster be replaced with?

Cedar Point on announced it is replacing its Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster with Top Thrill 2 next year.

The legendary Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point has been reimagined and replaced by Top Thrill 2, which officially opened in 2024 and is fully operational for the 2026 season. Developed by the manufacturer Zamperla, Top Thrill 2 is the world’s first and only "triple-launch strata coaster." Unlike the original which used a single hydraulic launch, the new version utilizes a Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) system to launch riders three times: once forward at 74 mph, a second time backward up a massive new 420-foot vertical spike at 101 mph, and a final forward launch that rockets the train at 120 mph to clear the iconic 420-foot "top hat" tower. This transformation effectively turned a 17-second ride into a two-minute experience that retains the 420-foot height of the original while adding multiple moments of weightlessness and a "rollback" as a guaranteed feature of every cycle.
