Where are Disney Dollars accepted?

You can think of your Disney Rewards Redemption Card like a gift card, and use it toward almost anything Disney. Redeem on purchases at most Disney locations in the U.S. and online on Disney sites. For example, visit a Disney Park or use your Rewards Redemption Card at shopDisney.com.

Although Disney stopped printing and selling Disney Dollars in May 2016, they remain legal tender within the Disney ecosystem in 2026 and have no expiration date. You can use them just like cash at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. Specifically, they are accepted at theme park ticket booths, merchandise shops, food and beverage locations (including quick-service and table-service restaurants), and at the Front Desks of Disney-owned resort hotels. They are also generally accepted at Disney Cruise Line guest services and Disney Store locations across the United States. If you use a Disney Dollar for a purchase, your change will be given in regular U.S. currency. In 2026, many of these bills have become collectors' items, with some denominations (like the 50th Anniversary editions) being worth significantly more than their face value on the secondary market, so many fans choose to keep them as souvenirs rather than spending them on a churro.

People Also Ask

The use of Disney Dollars only began to fail when people began relying more on debit cards and other forms of electronic payment. That didn't stop Disney from cashing in on the future of payment though. Despite their success, Disney eventually discontinued Disney Dollars in 2016.
