Where can I take the train in Verona?

Verona Porta Nuova train station is a major cross-junction station and is located in the south of Verona city centre. Around 300 trains pass by its 12 platforms every day, and Verona can be reached via direct, national and international routes, with high-speed trains available too.

The primary hub for rail travel in Verona is the Verona Porta Nuova station. Located about 1.5 kilometers south of the historic city center, it is one of the busiest railway junctions in Italy, serving as a crucial link between the east-west line (Milan-Venice) and the north-south line (Rome-Munich). From Porta Nuova, you can catch high-speed Frecciarossa and Italo trains that reach Milan in about an hour and Venice in roughly 70 minutes. The station also hosts international EuroCity trains that travel through the Brenner Pass into Austria and Germany. For those looking for smaller, more local journeys, a secondary station called Verona Porta Vescovo is located on the eastern side of the city; it primarily serves regional trains and is less frequented by tourists. Porta Nuova is well-equipped with amenities, including luggage storage, a wide variety of shops, cafes, and a taxi stand right outside the main entrance. It is easily accessible from the famous Verona Arena and Juliet's House via a short bus ride (lines 11, 12, 13) or a pleasant 20-minute walk down the Corso Porta Nuova, making it the perfect gateway for exploring the Veneto region.
