Where do people live on Toronto Islands?

Algonquin Island (formerly known as Sunfish Island) and Olympic Island are two of the other major islands. The former is mostly a residential area and the latter is public parkland. What is commonly called Ward's Island is actually the eastern end of Centre Island, and like Algonquin is mostly a residential area.

The residents on the island say they really love the winter season because, after hosting 1.6 million visitors through the summer months, it feels like the island returns to them. The Ward's Island residents occupy roughly 12 acres or 150 homes with the remainder on adjacent Algonquin Island. As it has been since 1915, most of the streets are named in sequence, as First, Second, Third and so on. The island has two daycare centres, a school and a church.

It would depend what you planned on doing. There are several beaches, one clothing optional and all others clothing required, amusement park, being car free, you can walk and ride bikes anywhere. We stayed about 4 hours, but went with no time limit.
