Secret Cove* - Glenbrook The beach is one of the most beautiful on Lake Tahoe, and can be accessed by parking in a small lot about 3/4 of a mile south of Chimney Beach. You then walk about 3/4 of a mile along a forested path to the beach. So once you are there, you might as well stay all day.

If you think you'll want to go on several commercial excursions and stay out late at night, South Lake Tahoe is probably the right choice for you. On the other hand, if you're looking to make this trip more of an escape into the wilderness, the north shore might be a better fit.

Outdoor activities in Lake Tahoe If you are visiting in summer, be sure to check out the beach against the blue Tahoe water. Even if it's not ski season, you can still take in the scenery from the top of the mountain — ride the gondola at Heavenly up to sightsee, hike, mountain bike, or even do a zip-line tour.

It is a great place in Northern California full of sightseeing and outdoor activities. Lake Tahoe can be visited in 2 days if you are running out of time, or you can spend 4 days in Lake Tahoe, ideally. However, I will recommend spending at least 3 days in Lake Tahoe to enjoy the best of this place.

EMERALD BAY Emerald Bay is one of the most photographed spots in Lake Tahoe, and for good reason- it has some of the most stunning views of the lake. No matter how many times I visit Emerald Bay, I never get tired of photographing it!
