Kings Beach is on the North Shore of the lake near the town of Kings Beach, but has an distinct advantage. It gets a lot of winter sun, so it's a nice beach to hang out on during those warmer winter days. With that said, I find the beaches to be more scenic in North Lake Tahoe (like Sand Harbor State Beach) and there are plenty of less popular hiking trails nearby that are beautiful for a day hike.
