Where is the best place to see the Disney fireworks outside of Disney?

For the best view of the fireworks, head toward Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance Hall. Or you can walk towards the former ESPN Club, continuing almost to Disney's Beach Club Resort. There is a bridge that connects the Boardwalk and Beach Club hotels.

The best place to view the Disney World (Magic Kingdom) fireworks without a park ticket is from the beaches of the Polynesian Village Resort or the boat dock at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). At the Polynesian, the music from the "Happily Ever After" show is piped through the resort speakers, providing a synchronized experience with a stunning view across the Seven Seas Lagoon. Another upscale option is the California Grill restaurant at the Contemporary Resort; they have an outdoor observation deck specifically for fireworks viewing. For those near Epcot, the boardwalk area near Disney's BoardWalk Inn offers glimpses of the higher bursts from "Luminous." If you are at Disneyland in California, the Esplanade between the two park entrances provides a decent view, as does the rooftop bar The Fifth, located across the street. These locations allow you to enjoy the spectacle while avoiding the intense exit crowds that flood the parks immediately after the show.

Although Disney never officially stated its reasons for closing the park, poor attendance and high maintenance costs, combined with the newer and bigger Disney's Animal Kingdom being opened a year before, are the most likely causes. Since its closing, the island has sat largely abandoned, with no signs of development.

Epcot Forever is a temporary show, they run it while they are doing lagoon work so it's short and to the point. It runs at approximately 11 minutes or so each evening, which is perfectly quick for tired families but also may be a bit underwhelming compared to other fireworks spectaculars at Disney.

Luckily, the fireworks over World Showcase Lagoon can be seen from quite a distance and aside from seeing them from within EPCOT itself, I personally find that the next best nearby locations are definitely vantage points around Disney's BoardWalk.
