At speeds in excess of 186 mph, trains will transport passengers between Las Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga in just 2 hours and 10 minutes, twice as fast as the normal drive time, the company said.
Once carrying passengers, Brightline trains will travel at maximum speeds of 125mph which is more than two miles per minute. The future of BrightlineOnce Orlando is up and running, Brightline will head to Tampa, Florida, while also embarking on a West Coast equivalent: an express train connecting Southern California and Las Vegas in a three-hour ride. Construction is expected to begin later in 2023.
The train is equipped with comfortable seats, Wi-Fi, charging ports and refreshments for a comfortable experience. The train reaches speeds of 125 miles per hour. While you could get to South Florida faster by plane, Brightline says this luxury experience is all about the comfortability.
Surprisingly, Las Vegas is the largest metro area in the US that does not have passenger rail service. Amtrak previously operated a line with a stop in Las Vegas, The Desert Wind, but it was discontinued in 1997 due to budget cuts.
