Which airlines earn Avios?

Whenever and wherever you fly, you can collect Avios with British Airways, our oneworld® alliance partners and our other airline partners. You can earn Tier Points too, on British Airways and oneworld® flights.

In 2026, Avios has become one of the most flexible and widely adopted reward currencies in the world, used by over 30 different airlines across various alliances. The "Big Five" programs that use Avios as their primary currency are British Airways, Iberia, Qatar Airways, Aer Lingus, and Finnair, along with the low-cost carrier Vueling. Because these airlines are members of the Oneworld Alliance, you can also earn Avios when flying on other Oneworld partners such as American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, and Japan Airlines. Interestingly, the Avios ecosystem has expanded beyond the alliance; for instance, you can earn Avios on selected United Airlines flights through the Aer Lingus AerClub partnership, or on JetBlue via the Qatar Airways Privilege Club. As of June 2025, Oman Air also joined the list of Avios-earning partners. The unique "Convert my Avios" feature allows you to transfer your points instantly at a 1:1 ratio between British Airways, Qatar, and Iberia, making it the most powerful currency for frequent flyers looking to maximize award seat availability on key global routes.
