To find less crowded beaches in Barcelona, you must head north away from the tourist-heavy Barceloneta. Bogatell Beach is a favorite among locals; it is wider, cleaner, and significantly quieter, making it ideal for those who want to relax without the constant "mojito" sellers. Further north is Nova Mar Bella, which is frequented by a younger, local crowd and is generally peaceful due to its distance from the city center. For the most "secluded" experience within the city limits, Llevant Beach (the furthest north) typically has the lowest density of visitors, as it requires a longer walk or bus ride to reach. If you are willing to take a 20-minute train ride, the beaches of Montgat or Ocata to the north offer vast stretches of golden sand and a much more authentic, relaxed Spanish vibe compared to the frantic atmosphere of the central city beaches.
