Which park to start Harry Potter world?

Everyone says go to diagon alley (studios side) first and get the whole ?getting ready for hogwarts? experience. Gringotts gets extremely busy, so doing that early will save you a lot of time for the rest of your day.

To experience the story in chronological order, you should start at Universal Studios Florida in the Diagon Alley section. This area recreates Harry’s first introduction to the wizarding world, featuring the Leaky Cauldron, Gringotts Bank, and various wand shops. From there, you should take the Hogwarts Express (requires a Park-to-Park ticket) from King’s Cross Station to Hogsmeade Station, located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. This second park houses Hogsmeade village, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and the iconic Hogwarts Castle. As of 2026, there is now a third major location: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at the brand-new Universal Epic Universe. This park features 1920s wizarding Paris and the British Ministry of Magic. While you can visit them in any order, starting at Diagon Alley provides the most authentic "first-year" feeling before moving on to the school and the later cinematic eras.

Yes you can walk through without riding. There is so much to see and do in both parks for Harry Potter. They have so many little shops you can go in and check out what they have especially if you want to buy a wand. The only problem we had was a friend of mine could not get on the rides because she was a little to big.
