If you're more interested in large rides like roller coasters, Universal is going to be your best bet. The same is true if you're a big fan of Harry Potter. If you don't mind some of the more family-friendly rides or you have little ones to bring along, Disney may be a better option.

The toughest decision is deciding which one. Islands of Adventure has the better roller coasters (VelociCoaster, Hulk, and Hagrid's) but Universal Studios has a better mix of attractions and the better Harry Potter land. As Harry Potter fans, I recommend Universal Studios.

It's incredible to see the studios and how much work and detail go into making the sets as well as the sound effects and music for movies, videos and TV shows. I'd say my favorite part was seeing the Ellen studio as well as the costumes actors actually wore in different movies and shows.

Felt like we were definitely in wizarding world. If you want to see all of Harry Potter at Universal, you'll need to buy tickets for both parks (and that's the only way to ride the Hogwarts Express). Makes it very expensive, but we felt it was worth it after having enjoyed it. Absolutely awesome!
