Who owns Kings Dominion now?

Kings Dominion owner merging with Six Flags in amusement park deal valued at $2 billion. Cedar Fair shareholders will own 51.2% of the combined company, while Six Flags shareholders will own 48.8%. Both companies' boards have approved the deal.

As of 2026, Kings Dominion is owned by the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. This is the result of a massive $2 billion "merger of equals" between its former parent company, Cedar Fair, and the original Six Flags, which was finalized in mid-2024. Although the combined company operates under the Six Flags name and trades under the ticker symbol "FUN," the management team is a strategic mix of both legacy organizations, with its headquarters now located in Charlotte, North Carolina. To celebrate the first anniversary of the merger, Kings Dominion recently introduced the "All Park Passport," a benefit that allows 2026 season passholders unlimited access to more than 40 amusement, water, and animal parks across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This merger has consolidated many of North America's most iconic regional theme parks under a single corporate umbrella, allowing for shared intellectual property like Looney Tunes, DC Comics, and Peanuts across all properties.
