What is the newest ride at Kings Dominion?

Tumbili | New Roller Coaster in 2022 | Kings Dominion.

The newest and most anticipated attraction at Kings Dominion is Rapterra, which is set to debut in 2025 (making it the "newest" major addition for the current 2026 season). Rapterra is a record-breaking "Launched Wing Coaster" manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard. It holds the title of the world’s tallest and longest launched wing coaster, featuring a powerful electromagnetic propulsion system that blasts riders from 0 to 65 mph in just four seconds. Unlike traditional coasters with a lift hill, the ride begins with this intense launch, sending guests 145 feet into the air before plunging into a series of inversions, including a dive loop, a flat spin corkscrew, and a 360-degree raptor roll. The "wing" design means seats are suspended on either side of the track with nothing above or below the riders, simulating the sensation of flight as they navigate 3,086 feet of track. This ride is part of a reimagined "Jungle X-Pedition" area, fitting into a deep backstory involving the legendary Jungle Hawk.
