Why does Uber still have a fuel surcharge?

In an effort to recognise the impact of uncertain fuel costs, Uber introduced a Temporary Fuel Surcharge on your behalf on 30 September 2022. Until further notice, riders will pay you a surcharge of 3 cents per km (inclusive of GST) on every passenger trip and 100% of it goes directly to you.
