Are dogs allowed at Disney Fort Wilderness cabins?

Yes. As part of this programme, 4 out of our 26 resorts, have designated dog-friendly rooms. The 4 include Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Disney's Art of Animation Resort and the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.



In 2026, The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort (including the newer Disney Vacation Club cabins) remain a designated dog-friendly accommodation. Guests are permitted to bring up to two dogs per cabin, provided they are fully house-trained and kept on a leash or in a carrier when outside. There is an additional nightly fee for each dog, and pet owners must provide up-to-date vaccination records upon request. To ensure a smooth stay, Disney provides "Pluto’s Welcome Kit" at check-in, which includes a mat, bowls, and a "Room Occupied" door hanger to alert staff. While dogs are welcome in the cabins and at the Waggin' Trails Dog Park, they are strictly prohibited from theme parks, water parks, pools, and food locations. Additionally, dogs should not be left unattended in the cabin for more than seven hours, and housekeeping must be scheduled for a time when the pets are not present or are properly kenneled.

The current cabins at the resort will be rebuilt as refreshed hideaways. This project between Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Club is part of the overall refreshment of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and is projected to open in 2024.

PET RULES IN FORT WILDERNESS With the exception of service dogs, pets are allowed only in designated loops, designated pet walking trails, dog park (near Loops 300 and 500), and on golf carts (yay!) The only Disney transportation that allows pets are the Magical Express and the Minnie Vans (Lyft).

According to the Disneyland Resort Rules, pets or other animals (except service animals) aren't allowed in the Disneyland Resort theme parks, or the Downtown Disney District. However, you can board your dog at the Disneyland Resort Kennel Club, located just outside the Disneyland Park Main Entrance, for a daily fee.

Luckily for dog owners, January 13-19th, Disney will host Dog Days. This will be a week-long celebration where you can bring your dog with you to any theme park at Walt Disney World. Special pet reservations will be required for these days. Each pet will require an additional ticket, which will be $50 per pet per day.
