Are the umbrellas at Typhoon Lagoon worth it?

Sure you can score a shady spot if you get there early but people will pack around you quick. If you want to relax and enjoy typhoon lagoon to the fullest rent an umbrella. Totally worth it. We normally get to Typhoon Lagoon for opening and walk round toward Crush and Gusher.

Renting an umbrella at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is a "worth it" investment if you value a guaranteed home base and protection from the intense Florida sun. For a price ranging between $49 and $109 per day in 2026, you get a reserved beach umbrella, two lounge chairs, two beach chairs, a small drink table, and towels. Without a rental, you must "rope drop" the park to scavenge for one of the few free shaded spots, which are usually claimed within 15 minutes of opening. If you are a group of four and don't want the extreme $300+ expense of a Beachcomber Shack, the umbrella rental is the middle-ground "luxury" that ensures you don't spend your vacation time stressing about finding a seat. However, if you plan on spending 90% of your time in the Surf Pool or on the slides and only need a place to drop your bag, the cost may be hard to justify.
