Can I bring my backpack into Universal?

For Everyone's Safety: All Visitors Must Pass Through Metal Detection Before Experiencing the Theme Park. All bags, backpacks and purses are subject to x-ray and/or additional inspection by Universal security without advance notice and should not be left unattended.

Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Read all health and safety requirements for each attraction as they are not all the same. You know your physical conditions and limitations; Universal Orlando does not.

Refill Anywhere that Serves Beverages You can walk into any restaurant or service counter that serves beverages in the park and ask them to refill your water bottle. You don't even need a bottle. Just ask for a cup of ice water and they will be happy to provide you with one.

Make sure you've got strong swimmers if you plan to do the Ohno and Ohyah drop slides. These two body slides plunge into a 10-foot-deep pool! Volcano Bay does not provide any free towels, so be sure to bring your own if you do not want to rent them (it costs $7).

While on the subject of sandals, lets bring up Crocs. These things can be incredibly uncomfortable on your feet at a theme park due to the heat and water/sweat combination. Blisters, anyone? Crocs are comfortable wearing around the house and maybe to the grocery store, but not at a theme park for hours on end.

And as a general rule of thumb guests can wear their Harry Potter robes on some rides at Universal as long as it is not a safety issue. Team members will ask guests to remove their robes prior to riding if they do believe it's for the safety of the guests.

I always take them off for roller coasters. I wouldn't chance them staying on. Anything that is slip-on can always come off easily on a roller coaster. When I went to Unversial I worn a pair of crocs flip-flops.
