Can someone else use my old MagicBand?

Once a MagicBand has been linked to a person's profile, it remains linked to them and can be reused in the future with any new tickets or reservations linked to that account. A MagicBand cannot be reassigned to a different person.

No, once a MagicBand or MagicBand+ has been assigned and linked to a specific person's profile in the My Disney Experience system, it is permanently locked to that individual. For security and privacy reasons, Disney does not allow MagicBands to be "reassigned" or transferred to another guest, even if the band has been deactivated. The band acts as a digital key to your personal tickets, hotel room, and payment methods. While you can own and use multiple MagicBands yourself by linking them to your own account, you cannot pass a used band to a friend or family member for their trip. If you have a band that no longer works because the internal battery has died (standard for older non-plus versions), it still cannot be gifted. In 2026, guests who don't want to buy a new band are encouraged to use the Disney MagicMobile service on their smartphones, which provides the same entry and PhotoPass features for free without the need for a physical wristband.
