Can you swim in Disney?

Swimming at Walt Disney World is one of our favorite things to do on a Walt Disney World vacation! You will often find us splashing around during a mid-day break, having an evening swim or even enjoying the attractions at the Disney Water Parks all year round.

I am happy to let you know that all of the Disney Resort hotel pools are open year round. The only times they close is if they are scheduled for refurbishment, if there is lightning in the area or if it an extremely cold day and in that case, the Disney Water Parks close as well.

Can I use the pool at a resort other than the one I'm staying at? Using another resort's pool is called, in Disney lingo, “pool-hopping” and it is generally not allowed.

Know Before You Go Please note that this is a wading encounter where the dolphins are brought to you in waist-deep water. You will not actually be swimming with the dolphins at any time. Guests must be at least 48” (122 cm) tall. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

There are marinas at the Grand Floridian, The Polynesian and the Contemporary Resort where guests can rent boats, kayaks, ski boats and take guided fishing tours on the Seven Seas Lagoon.
