Can you wait in line for Tron?

TRON Lightcycle / Run doesn't have a standby line. If you're going to Disney World and you want to ride, you'll need either a Virtual Queue Boarding Group or a paid Individual Lightning Lane Reservation.

As of 2026, you can finally wait in a traditional standby line for TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom. For the first year and a half of its operation, the ride utilized a "Virtual Queue" system (via the My Disney Experience app) and Individual Lightning Lane entries only, meaning there was no physical line you could just walk up to. However, Disney shifted to a standard standby queue once the initial "new ride" hysteria settled. This means you can now "Rope Drop" the attraction (arrive at park opening) or wait in a physical line throughout the day. That said, the standby wait times for TRON remain among the highest in the park, often exceeding 90 to 120 minutes during peak periods. For guests staying at Disney Resort hotels, the Early Theme Park Entry period is the best time to use the standby line with minimal wait. If you prefer not to wait, the option to purchase a "Lightning Lane Single Pass" (formerly Individual Lightning Lane) is still available, allowing you to bypass the bulk of the queue for a set fee.

During the initial launch, TRON riders get close to hitting 60 MPH. Essentially, it's about as fast as if you were riding a motorcycle on the highway.
