Disney's Blizzard Beach is a water park with a ski resort theme. This park was meant to be a ski resort, but because of the Florida heat, there was no way to keep the snow from melting, so it was reworked into a waterpark.

Park story According to Disney legend, a freak snowstorm on January 11, 1977, in the area led to the development of Florida's first ski resort. Ski lifts were put up, toboggan runs were laid down and an entire resort area blossomed around the mountain of snow.

The deepest body of water in the park is 8 1/2 feet deep at the T-Bar in Ski Patrol, and is only for children 60” and under. The water isn't only over your child's head, but it's over your head too.

If you have a child between the ages of 5-12, Blizzard Beach is by far the winner in my book. BB's Ski Patrol Training Camp has experiences aimed specifically at the elementary school set that Typhoon Lagoon can't match.
