Do Disney MagicBands track kids?

I know that taking kiddos to Disney parks can feel a little daunting, but don't worry! After years of practice, I have some tips that I think will help you prepare for your visit. MagicBand+ does not allow users to track a band's physical location, so you won't be able to use it to find a lost child.

Does my toddler need a MagicBand? If your toddler is under three they do not need a ticket and therefore do not need a MagicBand. However, even if the long-range battery is no longer working, your MagicBand should still work for any Mickey to Mickey touchpoints, such as entrance tapstyles, Lightning Lane entrances, unlocking the door to your Disney Resort Hotel room, or point of sale terminals when charging purchases to your hotel room folio.

Once you create your child's account in the My Disney Experience app, you become the manager of that account. Only one adult needs to create an account for the child, making multiple accounts may cause issues with redeeming Lightning Lanes and accessing existing travel plans.

What's the Minimum Age? If your kid is under 13 this question is moot, because they aren't old enough to make their own account. You'll need to create a child's profile for them, and you'll manage it. If your under-13 teen has a phone and you want them to login to My Disney Experience, they'll have to do it as you.

The person who has DAS goes first. Then everyone else can scan in after them. If some party members do not have a MagicBand, they can still use their phone or a park ticket to redeem it. MagicBand+ is simply another option.

You are definitely able to have multiple MagicBands that you use during your trip and you can use them all interchangeably, as long as all of the MagicBands are linked to your My Disney Experience account. You can verify that your MagicBands are linked by visiting your MagicBands & Cards page.
