Weather and Typhoon LagoonBecause all attractions are outside, thunderstorms grind the entire operation to a halt. Conversely, rain slows nothing down and the park will operate in a downpour. Disney's water parks do shut down for cold weather.
The truth is, when it is rainy outside, the parks will be a lot less busy. So if you can handle it, you will often find that you can get a lot done during a storm. But, if you prefer to stay totally out of the rain, there are other things you can do on property that are still a lot of fun.
Everything is more spread out, so you'd be caught longer in the rain. Based on the usual summer forecast, we'd recommend a plan that includes visiting Animal Kingdom in the morning and EPCOT in the afternoon. Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios each have a fair amount of indoor attractions.

Make sure you go for a wander too, there are hot spots around the lagoon where the water will be much warmer than other parts which is just what you want in a storm. The fun doesn't end in the lagoon either, for further sheltering from the storm I recommend The Lava Restaurant.

Sure, Walt Disney World's theme parks get a lot of attention – but during the summer, there's really no better place to cool off and have plenty of Disney fun than the two water parks! And if you're looking to enjoy a frosty drink or take a ride on a thrilling water slide, Typhoon Lagoon is worth a visit.
To fit in with the locals, it's best to be barefoot at the Sky Lagoon. Outdoor shoes are not permitted around the lagoon to protect the floor from bacteria and dirt. It is possible to wear flip flops, which some visitors prefer to do, especially in the winter months when the ground is cold underfoot.
The sky lagoon is open until 10 pm in the evening. The evening is generally more crowded than mornings, but with little views, aside from possible northern lights in winter. Opt to come around sunset instead.
All guests must shower—without a swimsuit—before entering the Blue Lagoon. Use of Blue Lagoon skin care shower gel and hair conditioner is complimentary. If you desire more privacy while you shower, locate a shower that is equipped with a door.
