Do you have to live at Disney for the Disney College Program?

College and Culinary Program participants are eligible to opt-out of housing for their program during DORMS registration. Prior to your scheduled arrival you will receive an email directing you to log in and complete DORMS registration.

No, you are not strictly required to live in Disney-sponsored housing to participate in the Disney College Program (DCP), but it is the choice made by the vast majority of participants. In 2026, most students live at Flamingo Crossings Village, a state-of-the-art residential complex near the parks managed by American Campus Communities. While you can opt to be a "commuter" and find your own apartment in the Orlando area, living "on-property" at Flamingo Crossings offers unique benefits, including complimentary bus transportation to work locations, 24/7 security, and exclusive social events designed for DCP participants. Furthermore, living in Disney housing simplifies the logistics of the program, as the "Housing Fee" is automatically deducted from your weekly paycheck. If you choose to live off-site, you are responsible for your own transportation and housing costs, which can often be more expensive and less convenient than the subsidized, community-focused environment of the official program housing.
