While you can bring a car to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, it is not the most practical way to move within the resort due to its massive 750-acre size and restricted internal parking. There is no guest parking at the pools, restaurants, or trading posts; the only places you can park are at your specific cabin/campsite or the "Outpost" lot at the front entrance. To navigate the resort effectively, most guests choose to rent a golf cart, which is the "gold standard" for transportation here and allows for easy travel between the Meadow (recreation hub) and the Settlement (dining and boat launch). Alternatively, the resort offers a free, efficient internal bus system that circles the loops. For traveling to the theme parks, a car is also often unnecessary: a boat launch provides direct service to Magic Kingdom, and buses connect to the other parks. If you plan to frequently leave Disney property or prefer the 15-minute drive to EPCOT over the bus, a car is helpful, but for the "full Fort Wilderness experience," a golf cart or the internal shuttle is much more convenient.
