Do you need a whole day for Versailles?

From April to October, access to the Gardens is charged from Tuesday to Sunday (days of the Fountains shows and Musical Gardens). To make the most of your visit at Versailles, plan to spend a full day in the estate. Read our advices to better organize your visit.

Visitors to the Palace must book in advance and select a specific time slot. We highly recommend that visitors pre-book their tickets online. The Palace of Versailles is at its busiest just after lunch. Suppose you want to visit the Palace without crazy crowds. In that case, we recommend visiting the Palace in the morning or afternoon. Basically, avoid anytime between 12:00 and 15:00.

To avoid the crowd, prefer visiting the Palace during the weekdays. During the week-end, prefer coming Saturday at the opening (9:00 a.m.) or after 4:30 p.m. Sundays are generally very busy (I avoid the first Sunday of every month from November to March : it's free but crowded).
