The Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure features a massive "Top Hat" element that serves as its signature drop. After the second high-speed launch (70 mph), the train crests a 155-foot-tall peak before plunging down a 140-foot vertical drop at a staggering 80-degree angle. This drop takes place directly in front of the Jurassic Discovery Center, offering a thrilling view for both riders and spectators. While the 140-foot plunge is the largest, the ride also features several smaller, intense drops and low-to-the-ground maneuvers that create a sense of extreme speed. The combination of height, steepness, and the "top hat" maneuver makes it one of the most intense drops in Florida, providing significant "ejector airtime" where riders feel lifted out of their seats as they plummet toward the lagoon.
