How can I ride the Monorail for free?

All Disney transportation to and from the theme parks is free and this includes the Walt Disney World monorail. Guests can use the free Disney monorail from the ticket and transportation center over to Magic Kingdom and also to EPCOT.



Riding the Walt Disney World Monorail for free is a high-fidelity "hack" available to all guests in 2026, as the system does not require a park ticket or proof of resort stay to board. The most common high-fidelity way to do this is to park at Disney Springs (where parking is free) and take a Disney bus to a monorail resort like the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. Once at the resort, you can board the "Resort Monorail" or the "Express Monorail" for a high-fidelity loop around the Seven Seas Lagoon and past the Magic Kingdom entrance. You can also transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to the Epcot Monorail for a high-fidelity, four-mile journey that actually glides inside the Epcot park for a spectacular view of Spaceship Earth. For 2026 visitors, this remains one of the best "High-Fidelity" free activities at the resort, providing a world-class view of the Disney skyline and "High-Fidelity" architecture without the cost of a daily admission ticket.

The entire set of the beam, the bogies, the wheels, etc. is more complex and expensive for a monorail. Monorail requires a lot of stuff around the beam, often made of expensive rare metals, with a lot more maintenance. Monorail beam itself must be built and maintained to high specifications.

Definitely can ride the monorail whenever you would like as long as it's open and running. One recommendation I would give is to check the time for Epcot Forever. You can time it right to take the Epcot monorail from the transportation and ticket center and go over Epcot and by the lagoon during the show.
