Monterosso al Mare is the only town in the Cinque Terre with a large, traditional sandy beach, and getting there is incredibly easy compared to its neighbors. If you arrive by train, the Fegina Beach is located directly in front of the station exit; you literally walk down a few steps and you are on the promenade. This area features both "Spiaggia Libera" (free public areas) and "Stabilimenti Balneari" where you can rent umbrellas and sun loungers. If you want to reach the smaller beach in the Old Town (Centro Storico), you simply turn left from the train station and walk through the pedestrian tunnel or along the scenic coastal path for about 10 minutes. The walk is flat and offers stunning views of the Ligurian Sea. For those arriving by ferry, the boat docks right in the heart of the Old Town beach area. In 2026, it remains the most accessible beach for families and those with mobility concerns due to the lack of steep stairs.
