How early should I get to Hollywood Studios?

If you are trying to take advantage of everything Hollywood Studios has to offer we recommend arriving 45 minutes – an hour before normal scheduled park opening.

To maximize your day at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2026, you should aim to arrive at the front gates at least 60 to 90 minutes before the official park opening. If you are a guest at a Disney Resort and have access to "Early Theme Park Entry," you should be at the security checkpoints by 7:30 AM for an 8:30 AM early start. This "Rope Drop" strategy is essential because Hollywood Studios has a high density of "headliner" attractions with notoriously long wait times, such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash. Arriving early allows you to finish one or even two of these major rides before the general public is even allowed inside the park. It is also important to remember that you must be ready on your phone at exactly 7:00 AM to join the Virtual Queue for any attractions currently using that system. The bottleneck at Hollywood Studios is often the security line and the "tapstiles," so being in the first wave of arrivals can save you hours of standing in the hot Florida sun later in the day. By 10:00 AM, the park is typically at peak capacity, so those early morning hours are the most valuable time of your entire visit.
