How extreme is Guardians of the Galaxy?

As they soar through the galaxy, as well as time itself, riders know precisely where they should train their focus. But the prescribed lateral rotations make for a wild, physical ride experience as well. The movements are not extreme.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is a high-speed "storytelling" roller coaster, but its "extremity" is often debated because it lacks traditional big drops. It features a unique reverse launch and a ride vehicle that rotates 360 degrees to point you at screens and physical sets. While it reaches speeds of up to 60 mph, it is incredibly smooth—often described as "buttery." However, for those sensitive to motion, the spinning combined with the dark environment and large digital screens can cause significant motion sickness. It is more intense than Space Mountain because of its speed and modern tech, but less intense than Rock 'n' Roller Coaster because it has no inversions (you never go upside down). It is often described as "pure fun" rather than "pure fear." If you can handle Big Thunder Mountain but are wary of spinning, you might want to take a motion sickness precaution, but for most thrill-seekers, it is considered the gold standard of modern Disney attractions.
