How long is the carriage ride at Fort Wilderness?

You'll board your horse-drawn carriage for a 25-minute ride near Crockett's Tavern. If arriving by vehicle, please park in the main entrance of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and take a bus to the Settlement Depot. Carriages fit up to 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 small children.

The standard horse-drawn carriage ride at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground lasts approximately 25 minutes. These relaxing excursions take guests on a scenic loop through the lush pine and cypress forests of the resort, where you might spot local wildlife like deer, ducks, and rabbits. In 2026, the rides typically depart from the Settlement area, specifically near Crockett’s Tavern. Each carriage can accommodate up to four adults, or two adults and three small children. During the winter holidays, the resort also offers special "Sleigh Rides" which follow the same duration but feature festive decorations. Because availability is limited, advance reservations via the My Disney Experience app are highly recommended. It is also important to arrive at the Settlement Depot at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time, as the carriages operate on a strict schedule to accommodate the high demand from resort guests and day visitors alike.
