How many ferries go to Toronto Island?

The Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division of the City of Toronto government operates three public ferry routes to Hanlan's Point, Centre Island Park and Ward's Island from Jack Layton Terminal at the foot of Bay Street on the central Toronto waterfront.

The Toronto Island Ferry service operates three primary routes departing from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at the foot of Bay Street. These routes go to Centre Island, Hanlan’s Point, and Ward’s Island. During the winter and early spring months, the frequency is reduced, with boats typically running every 30 to 60 minutes. However, in the peak summer season, the city deploys its full fleet of roughly five to seven ferries, with departures occurring every 15 minutes to handle the massive crowds heading to the beaches and Centreville Amusement Park. Ward’s Island and Hanlan’s Point are the only year-round residential or utility routes, while the Centre Island route is the most popular for tourists. Travelers should check the official City of Toronto Ferry Schedule daily, as times vary based on weather conditions and seasonal demand, and it is highly recommended to buy tickets online to bypass the long terminal queues.
