How many people does Typhoon Lagoon hold?

The park is least crowded during the autumn and winter months, and early spring. The 7,200 capacity is often reached in the summer months so consider going either first thing in the morning or mid-afternoon when early visitors are leaving for the day, mainly to dodge the daily rainstorm!

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has a maximum daily capacity of approximately 8,000 to 9,000 guests, though it rarely reaches this "absolute" limit except on the hottest summer weekends or holidays. In 2026, Disney utilizes sophisticated "capacity management" through the My Disney Experience app to ensure the park doesn't become dangerously overcrowded. When the park reaches its functional limit, it will temporarily "close for capacity," and no new guests—even those with valid tickets—will be admitted until a significant number of people leave. This is why it is highly recommended to arrive at the park gates at least 30 minutes before opening during the peak season (June–August). For those visiting in 2026, be aware that the park is scheduled for a major refurbishment from February 15 to May 11, 2026, during which time Blizzard Beach will be the primary water park in operation to handle the resort's aquatic demand.
