How much does it cost to drive on the beach at Carolina Beach?
Here is the beach driving gear we recommend for a fun day on the sand. A pass is required, and there are three types of passes available. A daily pass is $40, a daily holiday pass for holiday weekends is $60, and an annual pass is $200.

The Town of Carolina Beach has metered parking spaces as well as parking lots, Town-operated lots and metered spaces are open year round. Paid parking is in effect from March 1 - Oct.31, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., $5/hour or $25/day and Nov.1 - Dec.
Corolla/Carova – No permit required to drive, but during the season, a permit is required to park* 4WD vehicles can access the beach at the northern end of NC 12 where the paved road ends. 4WD access north of this point is permitted year round.
Overnight camping, driving, and open fires are prohibited within the Town of Carolina Beach. Options for all of these activities are available at other regions, such as Freeman Park and Carolina Beach State Park.
Parking decals may be purchased online at coastal.edu/safety. Decals can be picked up at the Department of Public Safety office Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Parking decals may also be paid for at the Office of Student Accounts.
