The "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith" at Disney's Hollywood Studios officially opened on July 29, 1999, making it roughly 26 years old as of early 2026. The attraction was a major milestone for the park, being the first Disney coaster to feature multiple inversions and a high-speed "LSM" (Linear Synchronous Motor) launch that goes from 0 to 57 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Over its two and a half decades, the ride has become a fan favorite for its high-energy soundtrack—featuring Aerosmith hits like "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion"—and its neon-lit "Los Angeles freeway" theme. However, in late 2025 and early 2026, the ride entered a period of significant change. As of March 2, 2026, the Aerosmith theme is scheduled to be retired and replaced by a new overlay featuring The Muppets, marking the end of a legendary 26-year run for the rock band at Walt Disney World.
