How to travel Cinque Terre in 2 days?

2 Days in the Cinque Terre: Planning an Amazing Cinque Terre Itinerary
  1. Day 1: Hiking from Vernazza to Monterosso al Mare, exploring Monterosso al Mare, and Sunset in Manarola.
  2. Day 2: Hiking from Corniglia to Vernazza, lunch in Vernazza, exploring Riomaggiore, and a sunset boat cruise.

To see the Cinque Terre in 2 days, stay in Levanto or La Spezia for easy train access. Day 1: Buy a "Cinque Terre Treno MS Card" for unlimited train travel. Start in Riomaggiore (the southernmost village), then take the 2-minute train to Manarola for a scenic lunch at Nessun Dorma. Finish the day in Vernazza, exploring the harbor and staying for sunset. Day 2: Start in Corniglia (the quietest village, located on a cliff), then take the train to Monterosso al Mare. Spend your afternoon on the beach (the only large sandy one in the region) or take a boat tour to see the colorful villages from the water. If you're a hiker, use Day 2 to walk the "Blue Trail" between Monterosso and Vernazza (about 2 hours) for the most iconic views of the coast before heading back.

You definately DO NOT need a guide. If you only have one day, Monterosso is the largest town and this is where you should go. If you plan a full day, I would recommend to hike to the next town (Vernazza). It's about an hour and a half, and sooooo beautiful!

La Spezia is a bit of a hidden gem as it is not as touristy as its surroundings and offers beautiful panoramas of the gulf and Apuan Alps as well as fascinating museums, a historic city centre, great markets and streets lined with lovely cafes and restaurants.
